We’re back at it with back-to-back blog posts from back-to-back weddings! We were so lucky to share our Memorial Day weekend with two amazing couples and their guests! Even better, both weddings took place at the Foundry, a venue which we adore. Mecaila & Alex’s Sunday wedding was simply perfect. They were so fun, and their bridal party was bursting with personality; they kept us laughing all day long!
They booked so many Buffalo Indie Weddings members as their vendors and it was so great to see all of those details come together. When I asked them what they were most excited about during the planning process, Alex said “Finding the right venue and meeting the vendors. Watching Mecaila’s eyes light up with excitement as she instantaneously envisioned our wedding at the Foundry was something I’ll never forget. The vendors we chose were absolutely amazing. We weren’t just impressed with their quality of work, but we also saw a great amount of passion and enthusiasm in each of them. Their passion is what helped make our wedding perfect and as stress free as it was.” Wedding photographer heart-melt material right there!!
On their wedding, we started at The Foundry Suites for prep photos before the boys met us for a beautiful First Look in the courtyard. Most brides hug their groom, but Mecaila walked right up and tugged on his ear, immediately cracking everyone up. Then, the look in Alex’s eyes as he saw his bride for the first time brought everyone right back to heartfelt tears. There were so many equally funny and overwhelmingly sweet moments like this throughout the entire day and we just loved being a part of it all! Thank you, A&M, so much for choosing us to capture your story! XOXO
Loved this moment with Mecaila & her sister pinning a photograph of their family members inside her dress. What a sweet tradition!
She rocked the most lovely flower crown from William’s Florist!
After reading a sweet letter from her husband-to-be, Mecaila let me pose her for some shots. I hard a hard time stopping because she is just so STUNNING.
Meanwhile, Colin was with Alex & his boys at another hotel. I love the shots he snagged of them getting ready.
Alex sported a custom-made suit from Bureau. One of their signature marks is to stitch a personalized quote inside the collar of their jackets. Alex chose this quote from the song by Death Cab for Cutie. How special is that?
After some shots around the hotel, we headed downtown for bridal party adventures!
Once we arrived back to The Foundry, all of their guests were ready for a courtyard ceremony & WILD party to follow!
“Seeing Mecaila walk down the aisle was my favorite moment of the day. I was anxious about the wedding the whole day, hoping everything would be perfect, but at that moment, everything just became so clear. It was the happiest I’ve been in my entire life.” – Alex
I mean, come on. I’m tearing up all over again just writing this!
Mecaila & Alex’s advice, as a newly married couple : “Don’t forget why you’re getting married. It’s so easy to stress out and argue about all the fine details, but do your best to compromise. The wedding, as special and important as it is, still ends up being one day in the rest of your lives. Enjoy the process!” You guys are the best!
