This wedding…. I’m not even sure where to begin! We had the most wonderful time celebrating Katie & Pete, one month ago today, and can barely even type here because we’re just SO excited to share these images!! Everything, all of it, from start to finish, was full of such sweet, emotional, loud, crazy, and FUN moments. From Katie reading a letter from her groom under the window where her wedding dress hung, to a lovely first look right inside their hotel suite, to a surprise dove release, to fun bridal party photos in the city, to a totally WILD reception, with surprise musical toasts, and shoes flying through the air… Everything about their big day at the Hotel @ The Lafayette was made to be photographed, and we LOVED being the ones who were chosen to do that. Scroll down to relive their day with us!
The joy that Katie, her mom & her bridesmaids shared as she got in her dress was utterly adorable.
She’s just STUN-NING.
Before she saw her groom, she wanted to see the first man in her life… Tears everywhere.
Meanwhile, the boys, looking as handsome as ever, prepped at another hotel, and headed over on the subway to meet Katie for the First Look.
Most brides tap their groom on the shoulder for the First Look… not Katie, and we love her even more for that.
We headed outside for bridal party photos & Katie’s mom (who had called me months ago to coordinate this), surprised her with a dove release. It was magical!
After our photos, we hurried back inside so they could, you know, GO GET MARRIED! Whoo hoo! We headed into the ballroom at the Lafayette for a simple but oh-so-sweet ceremony before their party kicked off.
After a fun cocktail hour with delicious treats from the Marquis de Lafayette kitchen, we headed into the start the reception. The speeches were, like the rest of the day, equal parts sweetly sentimental & totally hilarious, especially when the bridesmaids broke out into song, and performed a piece they wrote just for Katie & Pete. Well done, ladies!
Katie’s mom had one more surprise, a slideshow to play during dinner. It had everyone laughing, and crying, all at once!
After the first dances, the fun really started. This group most definitely knew how to start the party, and keep it going, right up to the very end. Things got weird. And wonderful. Just wait until you see the photos where “It’s Raining Men” came on, and the clothes came off…
When I was editing, and saw a weird brown mark on this image below, I panicked thinking surely something must have gotten on my lens. Once I realized that it was JUST A SHOE, flying through the air, I couldn’t stop laughing! It still cracks me up haha. Keep scrolling, you’ll see a few more things flying around – it was just that kind of party.
What a wild, wonderful, and absolutely perfect day. Thank you, K&P, for asking us to be a part of it!! XOXO
