Walking through a giant camera obscura, learning about light science, sketching in the old art room, watching an improv show in the same auditorium I sat through dozens of art history lectures in & SO much more… Headed back to the my alma mater yesterday to explore the Imagine #RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival with my kiddos & had a blast! 🧡🐅🖤 Their highlights were all of the robotic demos, glass blowing, pre-vet program classroom & video game design areas! This event happens once a year, at the end of April & should definitely be on your radar for next year. 2️⃣0️⃣ years ago, almost every day, I would sneak
2️⃣0️⃣ years ago, almost every day, I would sneak out of the darkroom & over to Java Wally’s on the #RIT campus for a coffee break. I would sit at a little café table & daydream about life after college… 📸 Running my own business, having a beautiful studio & making a living from my photography, & most importantly, sharing all of that with people that I loved. Today, during the Imagination Festival, I sat at that same little table, in that same café, across from my MOST beloved humans ❤️ We shared hot cocoa & some of those dreams. Pretty incredible to press pause on a busy life & see just how fast the time has moved; to be placed back in an exact seat where you once absolutely *yearned* for everything you currently have. Two decades have flashed by (I mean, my babies are now closer to college than I am 😳), but the gratitude of this wild journey has never missed me. As always, thanks to everyone who’s been a part of it 😘 What a ride! Can’t wait to see what the next twenty years bring 🎉🎉🎉 [Slide 1 : Random college prints & a copy of the school art & lit magazine that I was editor-in-chief for - we were so avant-garde that we insisted it be the first unbound issue 🤣😜] [Slide 2 : The 41st edition, still going strong, picked up today] [Slide 3 : My two best creations, my lifetime masterpieces!!] [Slide 4 : My freshman photo class, just because I was so very 2003 & it cracks me up. That hair!🤪]
